ACAIC is being developed as an independent organization with a clear educational purpose. As the council takes shape, the way it operates should reflect the responsible practices it encourages businesses to consider.

Ask a Governance Question

Our founding governance priorities

Keep the mission clear. Educational work should help business owners make informed decisions about AI and understand the effects on people and business performance.

Make responsibilities visible. Distinguish the governing board, advisory roles, educational contributors, and commercial partners so visitors can understand who does what.

Disclose relevant interests. Establish a process for identifying and handling interests that could affect council decisions or educational recommendations.

Explain commercial relationships. Identify sponsored material and relevant provider relationships clearly. Business owners should be able to understand the context behind the information they receive.

Support correction and review. Give readers a way to report an error and establish review practices for educational material as tools and circumstances change.

How governance will develop

The forming board will establish the council's operating policies and oversight processes. Governance information will be added here as those policies are adopted.

Independence from government

ACAIC is not a government agency. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Small Business Administration or any other government agency. Participation by a person with government experience does not change that status.
